  • Magenta Elves

    Magenta elves greet fellows hi

Up on top of the mountain

    Down by the thigh

If you ever see one passing by you

    You better say hi

    Or greet the fellow bye

For magenta people treat their fellows with passion

No more grumbling of staying home a-fright

    You better say hi

    And knock their beer dry

Exposition: Leprechauns, but magenta theme 🙂

  • Spring: Sun & Moon

Spring is the butterfly that lands on your finger.

Her delicate movements a pleasure to behold.

She flutters in sync with fragrant nectar, winding rivers and melodious bird songs.

Her breaths are whispers to dawn,

invigorating the chills of morning dew.

She makes the sun shine in streaks of honey.

    Then at night,

the moon pours forth her glow,

dancing fluidly with the flowers she adorned the earth.

Exposition: Spring is my favourite season, for her promise of life, blessings and new beginnings.

  • Love Letter to Suebrain

    My brain is a menace

It makes me go to bed late

It whispers harsh things to my ear

It makes me dream of tears and heartbreaks

My brain is the mum friend

It tries to knit me sweaters

It tries to feed me cake

It tries to love me properly

    My brain is my teacher

It helps me to learn new words

It teaches me to not believe what everyone else is saying

It tries to be patient with me

But I’m a slow learner, still it persists

For it is the greatest friend I have

The brain that I appreciate ❤

I like to make poems about brains during nights when it makes me stay awake

I feel that it’s some sort of tribute

To try to make my brain seem more alive

But, who am I kidding really?

Suebrain is more alive than I could ever be

I’m just a disembodied ocean of feelings

    I am an eternal dream

Dream of me not, the brain of no sleep

Or dream of me like a summer rain

Where all things are good and golden yet slightly foolish

But, that suits well for a menace who wouldn’t ever shut up

    No intrusive thoughts, please

Your host is trying to survive tonight

By now, I am actually just rambling and vomiting my thoughts

So you can stop reading, please

This next part is for me and my brain to steep alone in privacy

So, if you are still reading, please stop eavesdropping…

    I love you, my brain

For you are big and slimy

    I hate you, my brain

For you are too logical, picking every feeling apart and causing me anxiety

    I loathe you, my brain

    Because I cannot move away

    I’m stuck with you

    I must not sleep

I love you more than anything though

Because you allowed me to experience love

    I love many things, brain

    I love my mother

    I love my friends

    I love flowers

    They make me feel seen

I love just being, just the act of existing

I love the feel of wind brushing against my body

But, most of all, I love you

For without you, I wouldn’t be able to experience these things

    Sleep is overrated

    Let’s live in ecstasy!

I wonder if you ever made friends with other people’s brains

Or talk to them telepathically without me knowing

I wonder if you spill your thoughts to them like I do with you

After all, brains are quite shy

    They are basically homebodies

Don’t let this shell contain you though

    You can fly out anytime

I understand if you ever wish to grow wi-

  • Yabble Wabble

The voices that yabble wabble in your head,

the ants that sting your heart,

    telling you you’re unworthy,

    repeating lies…

    I will chase away,

    chase them all away.

Like dawn amidst the hopeless grey.

    Like soft kisses on bandage,

    planting reassurance,

    reminding you you’re cherished always.

Exposition: Sometimes, all it takes is a listener or a kind reassurance to chase the dark clouds away. Thank you for choosing kindness.

  • The Wolf and The Sheep

    It rained and rained,

so heavily I couldn’t see you clearly.

    Tell me darling.

Was it ever your intention to turn your back on me?

    I dove and I rose.

    The cycles kept repeating.

    I’m not her anymore.

    My terrors don’t define me.

You said I haven’t seen the maze,

the chains, the punishments, the demon in red.

You said we don’t live in fairy tales.

Then, why howl in sheep’s clothing?

    Never say you know me.

The hands that searched aimlessly for you,

    voice that called your name.

Never say you wanted to talk,

to piece back heaven when you broke it in the first place.

Exposition: Betrayal by someone who thought they knew you. Perhaps they did know you, but you grew up beyond the scared little sheep the wolf thought it could fool.

  • Pangu

Cards: Knight of Pentacles, The World, Three of Pentacles

He was the mountains, he was the tribe that hailed from the mountains. Where the rivers flowed he rested his spirit and continued on as the waters went. There was no rest, there was only impermanence.

The world rests upon a globe, does the wind turn it? The seasons change while the wheat turns golden, grapes fresh under summer skies, all things follow a natural rhythm, steered by an invisible force governing nature. Don’t go against the flow, mankind, heed nature’s warnings. Don’t forget that as you came from it, you would one day return to its soils. Don’t be ungrateful. Take only what you need, then give back the rest. You’re not the only ones here, most of the world’s riches you might never see. What does it matter, if you hold enough to yourself all that’s prosperous and abundant? Don’t try to fly before you learn how to walk. There are many things to be learned and studied first. It’s better to be slow and steady than to rush into the unknown.

  • Nüwa

Cards: The Sun, the Queen of Wands

She is the kind mother of heavens. She is gentle. She is of bright light. She has the gentlest countenance. She has the warmest smile. She speaks encouraging words to you when you feel down. When you have nowhere to go she offers a charming abode. At the back of the sun is her little place, where sunflowers grow and thrive across seasons. Here you have no need to worry. Here there is no more stress that follows.

She may be alone, she can create though, so she never had to bear loneliness alone. She would beckon you to be kind. In the desert where all lives need toil to survive, she hopes that you might consider that another with a different way of life might just be you, in disguise.

  • Dandelions

    by Sue Tang

I am where the wild winds take me

For the sunshine blesses my flight

The Lady Moon plays me her melodies

    Buoyant is the air

    Filling me with life

The spice of the currents rejuvenating

While the rivers dance and tell their stories

    Oh fellow traveller

Don’t ask me from where I hail

I go where the wild winds take me

    Soaring up like bubbling laughter

    Of merry children playing

    The wonder of sunsets

    Mystics of the night

I am the Dandelion of Spring and Fall

My home the vibrant green of the earth

    ~

Exposition: Nature is alive, people. The plants and flowers; the skies and seas. Join the dandelions on their wanders, and you might find yourself some worthy wonders.

  • Creature of Love

    by Sue Tang

I am a creature of love

I am the flight of melodies

I am stars lit with rare life

I am the quiet brilliance under the moonlit sky

Some see me as a mere flicker of chance

Some see me dark as their heart

Some see me wanton as their crooked tongue

Some see me shy as my past

    None see my beginning

When dreams were taking their first shaky steps

When stars were first formed, joy grew its young wings

And the music this naive world ever knew was laughter

    None see that I’m growing

The pain, the tears, the betrayals

    The first wing stripped

    And then another

None see my truth, the pages splashed with blood, drown in vomit

When love was the first whispers of my young soul

Music my commands to the world shrieking in madness, drunk on tears

    Commands to take care of

Take care of this precious heart

None see the stars lit with life now

    For their shadows are long

The night lingers like a ghost

But all see the quiet, all hear the moon

For their eyes see from their ears

And their ears hear from their hollow heart

    Judging every but forgiving none

    ~

Exposition: People can be judgemental, and judgemental people like to be harsh. They love to strip you apart, dress you in dregs and belittle every inch of you they find worthy of ridicule. If you grow up amidst harsh judgement, you’ll learn to accept that none will ever see the true you. You’ll hide. You’ll bottle up. You won’t tell.

  • There Is Blue in Every Green

    by Sue Tang

There is love in a summer storm

There are puzzles in a lover’s kiss

There is friendship in every romance

There is forever in every parting gift

    Just because you

    Don’t see

    Don’t hear

    Don’t speak

    Don’t feel

    Don’t need

    Don’t dream

Doesn’t mean there would be an end

Doesn’t mean it ever had a beginning

    ~

Exposition: Things aren’t as simple as they seem. Are you sure there are no greens in your blues; no blues in your greens? We select our desired perspective to narrate our own stories. However, even if you ignore the hidden perspective, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist, or is meant to be acted upon in any way.
